Calligraphy: Beginner's Bootcamp
If you've always
wanted to learn calligraphy, but didn't know
where to start, this
class is for you! After first taking a look
at the necessary
tools, we move to an in-depth study of
the Italic alphabet,
which is the origin of all current day letterforms. Each letter
is deconstructed in a way that is simple,
understandable, and
easy to execute. Students will learn
this graceful
alphabet with basic strokes, lower case letters,
upper case letters,
spacing, numerals and punctuation.
Designed for the
beginner, this step-by-step approach offers
you all of the
fundamental information you need
to have an excellent
understanding
of the Italic
alphabet.

For creative students of any level, this is the perfect workshop
for you to learn how
to enhance and add flair
to finished artwork
and scrapbook pages.
In this one-day
workshop, we move beyond letterforms
into patterned edges,
simply constructed borders,
and linear
decoration. Using broad-edged markers
and watercolors,
students will explore a wide variety
of examples, as well
as create their own, in this easy
and fun step-by-step
tutorial.

Calligraphy in the Celtic Style
In this two day workshop, students will explore the foundation,
structure, and distinctive hand of the Celtic alphabet.
We will cover
letterforms, punctuation, numerals, spacing,
and layout. Also
called "uncial", this ancient alphabet
is both beautiful and
useful. Rich in the history of the
Irish culture, this workshop is perfect for beginners and
scrapbookers. This class can also be used as a refresher.
