Kathy is an internationally known calligrapher, designer, instructor, author and mentor, who happily admits to being obsessed with letters since childhood. Owner of 24 Karat Designs Calligraphy Studio in Newton, New Jersey, her work has been seen in national magazines and on television.
She's a member of the Society of Scribes in New York City, and a popular instructor at the IAMPETH (The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting) annual international calligraphy conference. She teaches both at home and travels the country, promoting, lecturing and teaching calligraphy and the related arts. The originator of "Gratitude Script," a modern typeface, she also enjoys mentoring fellow artists and art students in how to create a living and maintain a viable business, working as an artist.
Kathy is honored to be a professional calligrapher for over 36 years, and feels privileged to have studied under some of the best known and respected Master Penmen in the world, including White House calligraphers. Her teachers have included Pat Blair, Richard Muffler, Michael Sull, Harvest Crittenden, John DeCollibus, Jake Weidmann, Rosemary Buczek and Barbara Calzolari.
After all these years, she is still enjoying her lifelong passion for “everything calligraphy.”
